Although it's several years ago now since I visited, on that occasion there was limited information about the significance of the stones or the "magic" element which presumably prompted the ignorant American woman next to me to remark to her husband "Gee, Honey. I don't know what all the fuss is about. After all it's only a pile of stones!". Presumably from the same camp as the American who recently enquired of the Tourist Information Centre, why anyone was stupid enough to build Windsor Castle on a flight path. I am also not surprised that Stonehenge disappoints.
