Greenwich park as seen from the Royal Observatory. The buildings in the picture form a World Heritage Site. In the centre is Inigo Jones's Queen's House. To the left is the National Maritime Museum with its modern glass roof. Behind these is the former Royal Naval Hospital. One of the domes was built by Sir Christopher Wren (architect of St Paul's Cathedral), the other by his pupil Hawksmoor.

Across the river is the Isle of Dogs, which has been redeveloped as the Docklands commercial zone. One Canada Square, with its pyramidal top, is the tallest building in the UK, designed by Cesar Pelli.
