King's College Chapel

23 September 2006

The first stone of the Chapel was laid in 1446, and construction took more than a hundred years in three stages. It is considered one of the finest examples of late English Gothic or Perpendicular architecture.

Today, the Chapel is still used as a place of worship, and for concerts and other events, including the famous Nine Lessons and Carols that is broadcast by the BBC each year on Christmas Eve.
