St John's College

23 September 2006

The New Court of St John's College was built in 1831 as an extension to house increasing numbers of students. It is on the opposite side of the River Cam to the main part of the college, and connected to it by the Bridge of Sighs.

St John's College itself was founded in 1511, and later extended in the 17th century.
