This is a view looking down from a hill to the east of Didcot, known incidentally as Down Hill. From this angle, the layout of the power station, with its two groups of three cooling towers nearly a kilometre apart, is clear. With the more recent Didcot B power station hidden behind the boiler house building, architect Sir Frederick Gibberd's original vision can be appreciated largely uncluttered by modern additions.
